two whole numbers, then it is composite.

Express the number 34 as a product of its factors.

Write the factors.

34 = 1 × 34.

34 = 2 × 17.

Factors of 34 are 1, 2, 17 and 34.

Since the number has more than two factors, it is composite.

The number 34 is a composite number.
