Mean is the sum of the value of each observation in a data set divided by the number of observations.
The median is the middle value in distribution when the values are arranged in ascending or descending order.
Hence median is the central tendency of the data when the distribution is not symmetrical.
But mean is the average value and it is highly affected by the values of the data.
