7x + 3 > 9x - 5

Subtract 3 from each side.

7x + 3 - 3 > 9x - 5 - 3

7x  > 9x - 8

Subtract 9x  from each side.

7x - 9x  > 9x - 9x - 8

-2x  > - 8

Divide each side by 2.

-2x / 2 > - 8 / 2

- > - 4

Multiply each side by negative one and flip the symbol.

Solution x  <  4.

Check :

7x + 3 > 9x - 5

If x  = 3

7(3) + 3 > 9(3) - 5

21 + 3 > 27 - 5

24 > 22

Above statement is true.
