The points are (- 4, - 6) and (- 8, 2)

Distance = sqrt ((x₂ - x₁)2 + (y₂ - y₁)2)

= sqrt ((- 8 + 4)2 + (2 + 6)2)

= sqrt ((- 4)2 + (8)2)

= sqrt (16 +64)

= sqrt (80)

= 8.94 units.

Distance between the given two points is 8.94 units.
