Let the largest number be x

Let the smallest number be x - 15

Given that the sum of two numbers is 47

        => x + x - 15 = 47

        => 2x -15 = 47

        => 2x = 47 + 15

        => x = 62/2

       => x = 31

Therefore the largest number is 31.

Smallest number = x - 15

                           = 31 - 15

                           = 16

Therefore the two numbers are 16 and 31.
