 The logarithmic equation

log (8x-x2 )  =   4

Apply logarithmic rule

2^4  =  (8x-x^2 )

16  =  (8x-x^2 )

16 - (8x-x^2 )  =  0

16 - 8x + x^2   =  0

x^2 - 8x + 16   =  0

x^2 - 2(x)(4) + 4^2   =  0

(x - 4)^2   =  0

(x - 4)   =  0

x  =  4

Answer :

The solution is x  =  4.
