Graph the linear equation by using slope-intercept method :

The equation 8x - 3y = -15.

Write the above equation in slope-intercept form y = mx + b, where m is slope and b is y-intercept.

Subtract 8x from each side.

8x - 3y - 8x = -15 - 8x

-3y = - 15 - 8x

Divide each side by negative 3.

-3y/(-3) = -8x/(-3) - 15/(-3)

y = (8/3)x + 5

Slope : m = 8/3 and y-intercept : b = 5.

y-intercept is 5, so the line crosses the y-axis at (0, 5)

Using slope find the next point.

Slope = rise/run = 8/3.

Start at point (0, 5), move 8 units up (5+8=13) and 3 units right (0+3=3), then plot the point (3, 13).

Draw a line through these points.
