7x+8y-5 = 0

Add 5 to each side.

7x+8y = 5

Subtract 7x from each side.

8y = -7x+5

Divide to each side by 8.

y = (-7/8)x+5/8

Now it isin slope intercept form y = mx+b.

Slope = -7/8, y - intercept is 5/8.
