f(x) = x2, g(x) = - 5x and h(x) = x + 3

Find g(h(7)) = ?

h(x) = x + 3

Substitute x = 7 in the function.

h(7) = 7 + 3 = 10

Then g(h(7)) = g(10)

g(x) = - 5x

Substitute x = 10 in the function.

g(10) = - 5(10) = - 50

There fore g(h(7)) = - 50
