6cm over 14cm

First check the numerator and denominator units, since units are same you can directly simplify the expression.

6 / 14

Take out greatest coomon factor of 6 and 14, i.e is 2

= (2 * 3) / (2 * 7)

Simplify the expression

= 3/7

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

10 in over 2 ft

First check the numerator and denominator units. Since the units are different, convert the numerator and denominator in same units.

1 ft = 12 in. So the expression becomes

10 in over 24 in = 10/24

Take out greatest coomon factor of 10 and 24 i.e is 2

= (2* 5) / (2 * 12)

Simplify the expression

= 5/12
