I need help graphing y > 1/2x + 5.

Step1:

To graph the inequality y > (1/2)x + 5, first graph the line y = (1/2)x + 5.

Since y > (1/2)x + 5, The graph of y = (1/2)x + 5 is dashed and is not included in the graph of

y > (1/2)x + 5.

Then shade region above the line.

Step2:

To know the which section to be shaded use a test point like (0, 0).

0 > (1/2)0 + 5 ----> 0 >5

The statement is false.

So shade the region that except containing the point (0, 0).

Shaded in fuchsia colour.

Graph:

inequality y > -5x - 3 graph
