Corresponding Angles : If two parallel lines are cut by a transversal, then each pair of corresponding angles is congruent.

From the figure, the angles 117o and 2x + 15o are congruent.

Therefore 117o 2x + 15o.

117o = 2x + 15o

Subtract 15o from each side.

117o - 15o= 2x + 15o - 15o

102o = 2x + 0

102o = 2x

Divide each side by 2.

102o / 2 = 2x / 2

51o = x

The value of is 51o.
