y = 70/x6

The Rule of exponentiation is: 1/xp = x -p

y = 70(x-6)

Apply 'derivative with respect to x' each side.

dy/dx = (d/dx)[70(x-6)]

Power Rule of Derivative: (d/dx)xn = nxn-1

dy/dx = 70[-6x-7]

dy/dx = -420x-7

dy/dx = - 420/(x7).

Therefore the derivative of y is -420/x7.
