A  function  is a special type of relation in which each element of the domain is paired with exactly one element of the range.

The relation is not a function because the elements 0 in the domain is paired with both 1 and 5 in the range, and 1 in the domain is paired with - 1, 0, and 8 in the range.

The relation is not a function because the elements 0 in the domain are paired with both 1 and 8 in the range, and 1 in the domain is paired with - 1, 6, and 8 in the range.
