The energy E in joules (J) is equal to the power P in watts (W), times the time period t in seconds .

E(J) = P(W) × t(s)

The power required for refrigerator is (P) 90 watts .

Amount of time left 'on' = 24 hours  = 24 * 60 * 60 = 86400 sec .

So the energy  consumed by refrigerator is 90*86400 = 7776000 J .

The power required for hair dryer is (P) 900 watts .

Amount of time left 'on' = 20 min  = 20 * 60  = 1200 sec .

So the energy  consumed by refrigerator is 900*1200 = 1080000 J .

So How much more energy required for refrigerator is 7776000 - 1080000 = 669600 J

So the refrigerator needs 669600 J more energy the hair dryer .

Hence option (c) is correct .
