Easy square root math question!!!?

one side of a triangle is 2 to the square root of 5 what is the perimeter and area and why?

Answer: Assume triangle is equlateral, so all sides are equal

one side= 2 sqrt(5)

perimeter= 3* 2 sqrt(5)

                 =6 sqrt(5) = 13.42

 

Height of the triangle can calculate as below,

h^2= sqrt(5)^2 + [2sqrt(5)]^2

h^2= 5+20

h^2= 25

h=5

 

Area= (1/2)* base* height

Area= (1/2)*(2sqrt(5))* 5 = 11.18

Label the triangle side as 2√5.

Altitute will cut one side to two equal parts. So, by pythagorus thereom,

h2 = (2√5)2 + (√5)2
