(3). The graph of the equation image  is the boundary of the region. Since the inequality symbol is >, the boundary is drawn as a dotted line to show that points on the line satisfies the inequality and the shaded region of the graph of image  is the solutions to the inequality.

(4). To determine which half-plane to be shaded use a test point in either half-plane.
