The arithmetic sequence : 2, 4, 6, 8,.........70

The first term of the sequence : a = 2

The common difference            : d = 2

The nth term of sequence         : a + (n - 1)d = 70

                                                           2 + (n - 1)2 = 70

                                                           2n = 70

                                                             n = 35

The sum of the arithmetic sequence : A = n / 2[2a + (n - 1) d

Substitute a = 2, d = 2 and n = 35

                                                                        = 35 / 2[4 + (35 - 1)2]

                                                                        = 35 / 2[4 + 68]

                                                                        = 35 / 2[72]

                                                                        = 35[36]

                                                                        = 1260.
