Draw the triangle.

Using similar triangles rule,

From the similar triangles FHK and GHJ

HF/HK = HG/HJ

(12+6)/(8+x-4)  =6/8

18/(x+4)=6/8

6(x+4) =(18)(8)

(x+4) =(18)(8)/6

x+4 =(3)(8)

x+4=24

x = 20
