Write the equation in slope-intercept form y = mx + b, where m is slope and b is y-intercept.

The equation is 2x - 5y - 10 = 0.

Add 10 to each side.

2x - 5y = 10

Subtract 2x from each side.

- 5y = 10 - 2x

Divide each side by negative 5.

y = (10/- 5) - (2/-5)x

y = - 2 + 2x/5 = (2/5)x - 2.

Compare the equation with slope-intercept form y = mx + b.

slope = 2/5 and y-intercept is -2.

y-intercept is -2, so the line crosses the y-axis at (0, -2)

Using slope find the next point.

Slope = rise/run = 2/5

Start at point (0, -2), move 2 units up and 5 units right, then plot the point (5, 0).

Draw a line through these points.

The intercept - form of a line equation is x/a+ y/b = 1, where a and b are xand y intercepts.

The line equation is 2x - 5y - 10 = 0.

Write the equation in intercept - form.

2x - 5y = 10

(2x/10) - (5y/10) = 1

x/5 + y/(- 2) = 1.

Compare the above equation with intercept - form of a line equation.

x - intercept is 5.

So, the line crosses the x - axis at the point (5, 0).

And y - intercept is - 2.

So, the line crosses the y - axis at the point (0, - 2).

Graph :

1) Draw the coordinate plane.

2) Plot the points of the line.

3) Connect the line through the plotted points.
