A baseball is stored in a cube. The radius of the baseball is 1.5 inches. How much space is NOT taken up by the baseball in the container?

Given : The radius of the baseball ( r ) = 1.5 inches.

Space, that is not taken up by the baseball in the container = Volume of the cube - Volume of the baseball.

Where,  image is a diameter and also a side of the cube.

Substitute the value image in image.

Volume of the baseball image.

Substitute the values of image in image.

image.

Substitute the values image and image in image.

image.

Therefore, image space is not taken by the baseball in the container.
