Elimination method

Given equations are 4x+3y = 6 ---> (1)

5x-3y = 21 ---> (2)

To eliminate the y value add theequations (1)&(2).

4x+3y = 6

5x-3y = 21

______________

9x = 27

Divide to each side by 9.

x = 3

Substitute the x value in (1).

12+3y = 6

Subtract 12 from each side.

3y = -6

divide to each side by 3.

y = -2

Solution x = 3 and y = -2.
