The equation - 2x + 5y = 20

  • To find y intercept substitute x = 0 in above equation .

- 2(0) + 5y = 20

5y = 20

Divide each side by 5.

y = 4

  • To find x intercept substitute y = 0 in above equation .

- 2x + 5(0) = 20

- 2x = 20

Divide each side by negative 2.

x = 20/(-2)

x = - 10

 The equation x intercpt is -10 and y intercept is 4.
