In a fair six sided die there are 6 numbers are 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.

1,2, 3 are previous numbers to 4 and 4 is not greater than 4.

So the numbers 5 and 6 are greater than 4.

Probability of rolling number greater than 4 = (number of favourable events )/(total number of events)

= 2/6

= 1/3.
