Step 1:

Write the above two equations in slope-intercept form image, where image is slope and image is

image-intercept.

First equation image.

Subtract image from each side.

Compare with slope-intercept form.

Subtract image from each side.

Divide each side by image.

Compare with slope-intercept form.

Observe the two lines slopes are equal.

Parallel lines slopes are equal to each other and the lines does not intersect.

The lines image and image are parallel.

This is called inconsistent system of equations, and it has no solution.

Solution:
