A box slides at a constant rate of 4.0 m/s down an incline that makes a 40º angle with the horizontal.

Step 1:

The velocity of the box on the inclined plane is 4.0 m/s.

The inclination angle is 40º.

The component of the gravity force down the incline is equal to the frictional force.

The formula for the Kinetic friction is .

Therefore the coefficient kinetic of friction is 0.839.

Solution :

The coefficient of kinetic friction is 0.839.
