Let the three consecutive numbers are x , x + 2 , x + 4.

Sum of the numbers = x + x +2 + x + 4

x + x + 2 + x + 4 = 138

3x + 6 = 138

Subtract 6 from each side.

3x  = 132

Divide each side by 3.

x  = 132/3

x  = 44

x + 2 = 44+2 = 46

x + 4 = 46+2 = 48

Required consecutive numbers are 44, 46, 48.

Greatest number is 48.

Option 3 is correct choice.
