Can you help me solve the following problem: 2(3x+1)>-16

The inequality is 2(3x + 1) > - 16.

Apply distributive property :  a(b + c) =  ab + ac.

6x + 2 > - 16

Subtract 2 from each side.

6x + 2  - 2 > - 16 - 2

Group like terms.

6x > - 18

Divide each side by 6.

 6x/6 > - 18/6

cancel common terms.

x > - 3.

The solution set of the inequality is {x / x > - 3}.
