The points are (3, 7) and (- 6, 1).

Mid point = [(x₁+x₂)/2, (y₁+y₂)/2]

Substitute the values of (x₁, y₁) = (3, 7) and (x₂, y₂) = (- 6, 1) in [(x₁+x₂)/2, (y₁+y₂)/2]

Mid point = [(3 - 6)/2, (7 + 1)/2]

= [- 3/2, 8/2]

= [- 3/2, 4].

The mid point of the segment is (- 3/2, 4).
