Slope intercept form of a line y  = mx + b .

Given point image

m = 1

Equation of a line in point slope form is  image

y - 2 = 1 ( x - 3 )

y - 2 = x - 3

Add 2 to each side.

y - 2 + 2 = x - 3 + 2

y  = x - 1

Required line equation y  = x - 1.

Slope - intercept form line equation is y = mx + b where m is slope and b is y-intercept.

The line equation is y  = x+ b

Find y-intercept value by substituting the point on the line (3, 2)

2 = 1 * 3 + b

b = 2 -3 = -1

The line equation is y = x - 1
