Area of triangle = 1/2 * b * h

Where b  = base , h  = height.

In this case h  = 8 feet , A  = 16 ft^2

16 = 1/2 * b * 8

16 = 4b

b  = 16/4

b  = 4

Base of the triangle is 4ft.
