Given equations are 2x + y = 3 ---> (1)

and 7x - 3y = 4---> (2)

Convert the equations into matrix form.

AX  = D

A  is coefficient matrix , X  is variable matrix and D  is constant matrix.

From Guass-jordan method,

The augmented matrix is [AD ]

R₁  and R₂ represents first row and second row.

R₂ → R₂ - (7/2) * R₁.

image

R₂ → R₂ * (-2/13)

image

R₁ → R₁ - R₂

image

R₁ → R₁ / 2

The solution is (x, y ) = (1,1).
