The equation 3(4x - 3) - 19 = 8x - 4

Using distributive property a(b + c) = ab + ac

3(4x) + 3(-3) - 19 = 8x - 4

12x - 9  -19 = 8x - 4

12x - 28 = 8x - 4

Separate the variables and constants.

12x - 8x = - 4 + 28

4x = 24

Divide each side by 4.

4x/4 = 24/4

x = 6

Solution x = 6.
