The equation 1/a - 1/b = p

Add 1/b to each side.

1/a = p + 1/b

1/a = (pb + 1)/b

Cross multiplication.

a(pb + 1) = b

Divide each side by (pb + 1).

Solution a = b/(pb + 1)
