The sets are A = {1, 2, 3} , B = { 2, 4, 6} and C = {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6}

B ∩ C = { 2, 4, 6} ∩ {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6}

The intersection of two sets B and C is the set of elements common to both B and C.

= {2, 4, 6}

The intersection of two sets A and B ∩ C is the set of elements common to both A and B ∩ C .

A ∩ {B ∩ C} = {1, 2, 3} ∩ {2, 4, 6}

A ∩ {B ∩ C} = {2}.
