1) 5( a + 3b) = 5a + 15b

Left side expression is 5( a + 3b)

Distribute terms using distributive property: a(b + c) = ab + ac.

= 5(a) + 5(3b)

= 5a + 15b

= Right side expression.

Answer : distributive property.

= 3 + 4x
