How do you it on a TI-84 Calcuator.

I need know because, I won't have access to the textbook, but a TI-84 Calcuator will be provided on the Final.

Step 1:

We can evaluate the expected value using TI-84 calculator.

Follow these steps to evaluate expected value.

1.Enter x, P(x) list. 

[STAT --> ENTER --> Enter list of x in L1 and Enter list of x in L2 ]

2.Now compute expected value using var stats.

[STAT --> right navigation key --> ENTER ]

var stats L1,L2

3.Now observe the expected value.

Expected value is 1.32782.

We can evaluate the z score for percentage of area using TI-84 calculator.

For the bottom 3% .

Follow these steps to evaluate z score for bottom 3 %.

1.Select invNorm() 

[2nd --> VARS --> 3 ]

2.Enter area in decimals

invNorm(0.03)

3.Now press Enter in calculator to view answer

invNorm(0.03)

                -1.8807

Step 2:

For the top 3%.

Follow these steps to evaluate z score for top 3 %.

1.Select invNorm() 

[2nd --> VARS --> 3 ]

2.Enter area in decimals

invNorm(1 - 0.03)

3.Now press Enter in calculator to view answer

invNorm(1 - 0.03)

                1.8807
