Slope (m) = -3 .

x intercept = (4,0) =(x₁ , y₁)

(y - y₁) = m (x - x₁)

(y - 0) = -3 (x- 4)

y  = -3x + 12

-3x -y + 12 = 0

Divide each side by negative one.
3x + y = 12

graph of slope intercept equation 3x + y = 12
