a)

25 x^2y^2 –36 z^2   =   (5^2)(x^2)(y^2) - (6^2)(z^2)

                                 =   [ (5xy)^2 ] - [ (6z)^2 ]

                                 =   (5xy + 6z) (5xy - 6z)

b)

y^2 + 9   =   y^2 + 3^2

                  =   (y + 3)^2 - 2(y)(3)

                  =   (y + 3)^2 - 6y

                  =   (y + 3)^2 - (6y)^2

                  =   (y + 3 + 6y)(y + 3 - 6y)

                  =   (y + 6y + 3)(y - 6y + 3)

c)

8( x + y2 – 18   =   [8( x + y)] 2 – (18) 2

                          =   [8( x + y) + 18][8( x + y) - 18]
