In the given figure,

Base of the triangle = 10cm

Height of the triangle = 2cm

Area of the triangle = 1/2bh squareunits

                               = (1/2)(10)(2)

                               = 10cm^2

Base of the rectangle = 10cm

Height of the rectangle = 6cm

Area of the rectangle = bh squareunits

                                  = 10*6

                                  = 60 cm^2

Area of the figure = Area of rectangle + Area of triangle

                                = 60 + 10

                                = 70 cm^2

Therefore Area = 70 cm^2.
