Given m = 1/3 and x - intercept = 4

The slope intercept form is y = mx + c ------------------> (1)

At the point of x - interecept the value of y is 0

Substitute x = 4, y = 0 and m = 1/3 in Eq (1)

0  = (1/3)4 + c

4/3 + c  =  0

c  =  -4/3

Substitute m = 1/3 and c = -4/3 in Eq (1)

y  =  (1/3)x + (-4/3)

y  =  (x/3) - (4/3)

y  =  (x - 4) / 3

3y  =  (x - 4)

x - 3y  =  4

Answer :

Equation of line is x - 3y  =  4
