1. Calculate the force required to give a supermarket cart of a mass of 25kg and acceleration of 0.3m/s^-2

2. A push of 10N is exerted on a pram of a mass of 30kg for 3s. If the pram is initially at rest, calculate:

a) the acceleration of the pram:

b) the speed of the pram after 3s

1)

F=ma

   =25*0.3

    =7.5 N

2)

a)

a=F/m

   =10/30

   =0.333 m/s^2

b)

v=u+at

   =0+0.333*3

    =10 m/s
