Apply distributive property.

3(2x+2)-4(x-5)=18

Multiply the coefficents of given problem.

6x + 6 - 4x + 20 = 18

Combine like terms.

2x + 26 = 18

Subtract 26 from each side.

2x + 26 - 26 = 18 - 26

2x = -8

Divide each side by 2.

2x⁄2 = -8⁄2

x = -4

The solution of x = -4.
