The chords from the intersection of the chords rule QT×TS=PT×TR

QT=x, TS=3x, PT=8, TR=6

substitute the values in QT×TS=PT×TR

x(3x)=8×6

3x²=48

Divide both sides by 3

3x²/3=48/3

x²=16

Squaring on both sides

√x²=√16

x=√4²

x=±4

The value of x is ±4.
