1) Convert the velocity of 60 miles per hour into units of meters per second.
2) Express the following quantities in scientific notation: 1 million, 1 billion, 1 trillion, 1 millionth (Use ^ to denote exponentials: so, 10^3 = 1000, etc.)

1) We have that 1mile/hr = 0.45mts/sec

  To find for 60mile/hr = (0.45)*60mts/sec

                                       = 27 mts/sec

2) 1 million = (10^3)^2 = 10^6

    1 billion = (10^3)^3 = 10^9

    1 trillion = (10^3)^4 = 10^12

One million is a thousand thousands.

1 millionth = 1/1000000

= 0.000001 = 10-6

Scientific notation of 1 millionth is 10-6 .
