Substitution method

-3x+4y = 22  ---------> (1)

x-5y = -22

Add 5y to each side.

x-5y+5y = -22+5y

x = -22+5y --------> (2)

Substitute the x value in equation (1)

-3(-22+5y)+4y = 22

66-15y +4y = 22

66-11y = 22

Subtract 66 from each side.

66-66-11y = 22-66

-11y = -44

Divide  by negitive 11 to each side.

-11y/-11 = -44/-11

y = 4

Substitute the y value in equation (2)

x = -22+5*4

x = -22+20

x = -2

The solution of system x = -2, y = 4.
