Line 3x+y = 7

Subtract 3x from each side.

3x+y-3x = 7-3x

y = 7-3x

y = -3x+7

Given line slope say m1 and perpendicular line slope say m2

Slope m1 is -3

We know that m1*m2 = -1

required line slope m2 is 1/3.

Line equation to perpendicular to given line y-3 = 1/3(x-4)

3(y-3) =x-4

3y-9 = x-4

3y-9-x+4 = 0

-x+3y-5 = 0

x-3y+5 = 0
