Substitution method

x = y-7 ----------> (1)

4x-y = 0 ----------> (2)

From equation (1) substitute the x value in equation (2).

4(y-7)-y = 0

4y-28-y = 0

3y-28 = 0

Add 28 to each side.

3y-28+28 = 0+28

3y = 28

Divide to each side by 3.

3y/3 = 28/3

y = 28/3

Substitute the y value equation in (1).

x = 28/3-7

=28-21/3

x = 7/3

Solution of given equations x = 7/3 and y = 28/3.
