Given polynmiiial 2x^3+3x^2-8x-12

= x^2(2x+3)-4(2x+3)

Take common out (2x+3) from above expression.

= (2x+3)(x^2-4)

We know that (a^2-b^2) = (a-b)(a+b)

= (2x+3)(x+2)(x-2)

Factoring of 2x^3+3x^2-8x-12 = (2x+3)(x+4)(x-4)
