We know that 1 inch = 2.54 cm

Surface area of rectangle = 2ab+2bc+2ca

a = 7 in 9 cm, b = 4 in 5 cm, c = 4 in.

Convert the measurements from inches to cm.

7 in 9 cm = 7*2.54+9 = 17.78+9 = 26.78cm = a

4 in 5 cm = 4*2.54+5 = 10.16+5 = 15.16 cm = b

4 in = 4*2.54 = 10.16cm = c

Surface area of rectangle =2(26.78*15.16)+2(15.16*10.16)+2(10.16*26.78)

= 2(405.98)+2(154.02)+2(272.08)

= 811.96+308.04+544.16

= 1664.16 square cm.

= 1664.16/(2.54)2 square inches.

= 257.95 square inches.
